New Beginnings Workshop
Friend of Journalism Education,
As the school year progresses, the Arkansas Scholastic Press Association understands the importance of nurturing and enhancing the skills of journalism advisers across the state, especially our newest advisers and those advisers that have done this for a while but feel they could use a firmer grasp on the fundamentals. That's why we're excited to introduce our upcoming summer workshop, New Beginnings, tailored for just that.
Our workshop offers specialized tracks in yearbook, newspaper, literary magazines, and broadcast, providing a comprehensive learning experience for all facets of journalism. Participants will benefit from expert-led sessions and collaborative discussions aimed at elevating your school’s publications.
Key Workshop Highlights:
1. Specialized Tracks: To cater to the specific needs of your school's journalism program, choose your track: yearbook, newspaper, literary magazines, and broadcast.
2. Interactive Sessions: Engage in interactive workshops led by seasoned, award-winning advisers, providing practical insights and strategies applicable to your school's journalism environment. Instructors are all practicing advisers. We’ll tell you what works for us and make sure the time you spend with us is valuable, useful, and practical.
3. Networking Opportunities: Connect with peers, share experiences, and build a supportive network of advisers dedicated to fostering excellence in journalism education.
4. Resource Access: Gain access to a wealth of resources, including membership to both our state and national organizations, access to a digital email listserv full of advisers from across the nation ready to give you advice and answer your questions, journalism education best practices, and curriculum and Powerpoints to empower your journalism program throughout the academic year.
